DroidEditMac for MacOS9 by Vlad Spears DroidEditMac is not developed by us, but we are supporting the work. An OS-X version should be ready not too long after the v1.0 release of the MacOS 9 version. You will need OMS or FreeMIDI to be able to play and change the parameters at the same time. This will also let your sequencer record the changes you make in the editor. • Click here to download v0.921 beta for MacOS9 (screenshot available)
DroidEdit is a DROID-3 patch editor for Windows 95/98/98SE/ME/NT/2000/XP™ using MIDI to transmit the patch and editing data. DroidEdit lets you edit the sounds using your mouse and keyboard and provides a well-arranged overview of all the parameters. Also since DROID-3 can not save patches internally it is a crucial fact that DroidEdit can save your patches and export them individually in the Standard MIDI File format (*.mid) for easy import into any sequencer where it will work like a regular Program Change. Routing the editor correctly to your sequencer will also allow you to record any editing changes you make in realtime (read below for proper routing). More than 300 patches in DroidEdit format are bundled with the newest editor. They are also available for download here in Standard MIDI File format. MIDI routing - editing while playing / recording the changes in realtime In most cases DroidEdit will prevent your sequencer from using the MIDI output to which the DROID is connected. This makes it a problem to edit a patch and play MIDI notes at the same time. The best solution is to use a virtual MIDI input such as MIDI Yoke (one virtual MIDI connection is enough). After installing the virtual MIDI connection you must select it in DroidEdit. Now, your sequencer will be able to receive the editing data from the virtual MIDI output and merge it with the notes from your mother keyboard. Most sequencers reads all MIDI inputs as default and all you have to do is select the correct MIDI output (to which your DROID is connected) in the sequencer. Some MIDI interface drivers, however, supports MIDI merging internally. In such cases it will be possible to select the same MIDI output (to which your DROID is connected) in DroidEdit as well as in your sequencer. Then you can play the DROID via your sequencer and edit the patches at the same time using DroidEdit. This, though, will not allow the sequencer to record the changes you make in the editor in realtime - only the solution described above will make that possible. • Click here to download v1.1 of DroidEdit for Windows™ • Click here to download v1.2 alpha 1 of DroidEdit for Windows™ including preset sounds. |
